Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working on TV and in films is well known for movies such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her showbiz career at a young age. She was a lead actress in television dramas as early as the age of 16. Her critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was involved in many notable projects, both nationally as well as internationally. A few of them include the British biographical movie Control, the Greek drama film The Dust of Time, as well as the French historic miniseries Napoleon. She was also in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
