Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress popular for her work in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The only children of Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra entered the world of show business early, and ended up acting in lead roles on various shows on television by the time she was just 16. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like that of the secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge in the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominated film starring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. In the past, Alexandra has appeared in many notable international and national projects. This includes the British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historic mini-series Napoleon and many more. She also served on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
